 ETHANOL-THE SMART ALTERNATIVE
Most Sierra 1500 series models are available with a Vortec 5.3L V-8 "FlexFuel" Engine. GM offers more models with available E85 FlexFuel capability than any other manufacturer. FlexFuel engines run on a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel made mostly in the United States with corn and other grain products. A FlexFuel engine runs on any combination of gasoline and E85, and it's designed to automatically compensated when E85 fuel is detected. E85 produces fewer carbon emissions than gasoline, while offering at least the same outstanding horsepower and torque ans equivalent Vortec gasoline-only engines. |
