Things to Do In the Silver Valley

Are you coming from out of town to visit Dave Smith Motors, the world's largest Jeep Ram dealer? Then be ready to enjoy your stay. The Silver Valley is home to year-round fun activities. From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking and biking in the summer months, you'll have plenty of options to make your trip a memorable vacation. Here's a list of some fabulous attractions that you shouldn't miss.

Winter Sports in the Silver Valley

Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing when you visit us during winter. Check out these impressive stats: you'll have access to two mountains with 73 trails. And the whopping 1600-acres terrain with verticals between 1000 to 2200 feet serves all skiers from beginner to advanced.

Summer Sports in the Silver Valley

As the snow melts, usually around June, it's open season for fun activities like biking, zip-lining, and hiking. Rent the right bicycle and hit the proper trail. According to the Silver Mountain Resort, there are various types of routes: green trails are recommended for beginners, while blue trails are for more advanced riders. Then there are black and double-black trails with increasing levels of difficulty. Silver Streak Ziplines in beautiful Wallace is another must-see attraction. Choose from three options that range between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Experience the thrill of zipping down some steep lines while feasting on breathtaking views of Historical Wallace and surrounding mountains. The Silver Valley surely has a trail for you if you're into hiking. The options are endless, from easy strolling along the streams at low elevation to more challenging trails that take you to scenic lookouts. A favorite of ours is the Pulaski Tunnel Trail just outside of Wallace. It's a 4-mile round-trip hike mostly alongside a creek. You'll appreciate the soothing sounds of water and the informative historical markings posted throughout the trail.

The Gondola Ride

Don't miss the opportunity to ride The Gondola in Kellogg. This 3-mile journey is actually the world's longest single-stage gondola ride. It takes about 20 minutes to climb the mountain and offers some of the absolute best views of the region. The Gondola runs year-round and is open to all ages.

Pan for Gold

Silver Valley enjoys a rich history of mining. Go on a tour of the Crystal Gold Mine in Kellogg and learn about mining methods used in the late 1800s. It's an easy walk through a well-lit cavern with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. You'll discover facts about minerals and crystals that can be found in the mine. You'll even have a chance at panhandling for some gold that you get to keep if you find any!

Year-Round Fun at the Silver Valley

Our stunningly beautiful area has plenty to offer thrill-seekers and zen travelers alike. Whether you take a calm stroll by a stream, ski down a black diamond hill, or brush up on your knowledge of our mining history, we're confident your Silver Valley visit will be memorable.
