Keep reading as we break down what these SUVs have to offer and to find out which one we recommend!

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

The Grand Cherokee offers a seriously powerful engine lineup for the 2020 model year. The base engine is a 3.6L V6 that cranks out 295 horsepower and comes outfitted with rear-wheel drive while four-wheel drive is offered.. All other engine options are V8s and they all come with standard four-wheel drive. The second engine offered is a 5.7L V8 that generates 360 horsepower. The last two engines are housed in specific trim levels. The SRT boasts a 475 horsepower 6.4L V8 and the Trackhawk is home to a 707 horsepower 6.2L supercharged V8. All four of the Grand Cherokee's engine options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Ford Edge Power & Handling

The Edge's engine lineup only offers two options in the 2020 model year. The base engine, which powers most of the lineup, is a 250 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder. All the power from this engine is sent to the front-wheels while all-wheel drive is available. The second engine, only offered for the ST trim level, is a 335 horsepower 2.7L twin-turbocharged V6. This engine sends power to all four wheels with standard all-wheel drive. Both engines come mated to an eight-speed automatic.

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Features & Design

There are seven, that's right, seven Grand Cherokee trim levels offered for the 2020 model year. The base model is called the Laredo and it comes outfitted with standard features like a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker sound system, and rear parking sensors. The upper trims add leather upholstery, premium sound systems, a self-parking system, a power liftgate, remote engine start, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, heated front and rear seats, and more. The Trailhawk trim is ready to off-road with an adjustable air suspension, electronic rear differential, off-road tires, and a terrain-selectable traction control system. Jeep outfits the SRT and Trackhawk trims with features like adaptive sport-tuned suspensions, sport-tuned steering and brakes, lightweight wheels, and so much more!

2020 Ford Edge Features & Design

Ford only offers the Edge in four trim levels for the 2020 model year. The base model comes with a rearview camera, 18-inch wheels, a Sync 3 infotainment system, dual USB ports, smartphone integration, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a 6-speaker sound system. The upper trims add simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, roof rails, front parking sensors, a hands-free liftgate, front sport seats, a 12-speaker sound system, and a heated steering wheel. Most of the features you want to make your commute more comfortable are found in packages. The ST trim tries to keep up with the Grand Cherkoee's SRT and Trackhawk trim but pales in comparison with just sharper steering and sport-tuned steering.

Conclusion:

It is clear to see that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the model to choose in the 2020 model year. The Ford Edge does offer some good options but it just can't compete with the Grand Cherokee's four outstanding engine options or seven trim levels!
