Can you tell me about the Challenger's features?
Drivers have five main Challenger trim levels to choose from. The base SXT trim level comes outfitted with keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver's seat, smartphone integration, a 7-inch touchscreen, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and a backup camera. The upper trims add a hood scoop, performance steering, rear parking assist sensors, remote engine start, an active exhaust system, anti-spin rear-differential axle, heated front seats, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, electric steering, and more. Performance features found throughout the trim levels include SRT Power Chiller, high-performance suspension, Line Lock and Launch Control systems, and a performance shift indicator.
What about the Challenger's engine options?
In the 2020 model year, the standard engine for the Challenger is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that generates 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be outfitted with RWD or available AWD. The first of the V8 engines is a 5.7-liter V8 that generates 375 horsepower and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission (an 8-speed automatic is available). Drivers can also choose a 6.4-liter V8 that produces 485 horsepower which can also be paired with either the manual or automatic transmission. The SRT Hellcat is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 717 horsepower while the SRT Hellcat Redeye houses a more powerful version of that engine that kicks out 797 horsepower!
Could you talk about the Challenger's safety features?
The Challenger plays it safe with a host of security and safety features, because Dodge knows that there is no room for error. The Challenger knows that the road can hold unexpected things and that's why every model comes outfitted with a high-strength steel frame with substantial roof strength, front and rear crumple zones to reduce risk of injury, and advanced airbags installed throughout the cabin. Driver assistance safety features offered for the Challenger in the 2020 model year include the ParkView rear backup camera, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Automatic High-Beam Headlamps.
