2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Ram offers a slew of powerful engine for the 1500 that can tow up to 12,750 pounds. The standard engine for the lineup is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine with eTorque that makes 305 horsepower, 269 lb-ft of torque, and can tow up to 7,730 pounds. Ram also offers a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine that is available with and without eTorque technology. Both engines make 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The eTorque version of the engine can tow up to 12,750 pounds. The last available engine in the lineup is the 260 horsepower 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that makes 480 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 12,560 pounds.

Ford offers a bevy of engine choices for the F-150, but the standard engine for the lineup is a 3.3-liter V6. The V6 cranks out 290 horsepower, 265 lb-ft of torque, and comes paired with an older six-speed automatic transmission. This configuration will allow the F-150 to tow up to 7,600 pounds. The other engines that are available for the F-150 include a 2.7L Turbo V6, a 5.0L V8, a 3.5L Turbo V6, and a Turbocharged Diesel V6 that makes 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. All these engines come mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford offers the F-150 in a variety of trim levels that can all be outfitted with specific packages. The base XL model, for example, can be outfitted with the 101A Package, which adds Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Without the package, the XL comes with a four-speaker sound system, vinyl flooring, and manual mirrors. The XLT is next in the lineup and comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, chrome trim, and alloy wheels. The Lariat dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, and leather upholstery. On the higher trim levels, you can expect to find wood interior accents, 20-inch wheels, and power-deployable running boards.
