2021 Jeep Gladiator at Dave Smith Motors

The Jeep Gladiator is part truck, part Jeep, and all amazing. Last year the Gladiator roared onto the scene and impressed drivers with its powerful engine and best-in-class towing ability. In 2021, the Gladiator is back, and it's coming with a new diesel engine. Optional on all trims is a 3.0-liter diesel V6 capable of producing 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. This engine is more than an extra option; it gives the Gladiator a greater appeal if you tend to take a lot of road-trips or if you're big into off-roading. In addition to the diesel-powered engine, the Gladiator also has a ton of tech and safety features, so you are guaranteed to have the most advanced truck on the road. There is a lot to go over with the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Continue reading as we go over all it has to offer!

Flexible Coverage

The roll-up tonneau bed cover, available from the factory, offers versatility; unroll it completely for covered storage and a clean look, or flip up the last 5 inches to accommodate longer items with the tailgate and rest of the tonneau closed.

Keep It Secure

Four strong integrated tie-down loops can be adjusted as needed, including folded flush into the wheel wells when not attached to straps to maximize cargo space.

Ground Clearance

Rubicon models get up to 11.1-inches of ground clearance between the truck's underside and the terrain so you can drive over obstacles with confidence.

Take Control

Gladiator Rubicon offers two impressive ways to maximize your drive. The standard front and rear Tru-Lok® Electronic Locking Differentials offer incredible power delivery to the wheels to help maintain momentum on tough terrain with maximum traction. New for 2021, the rear axle can now be locked in 4HI Mode for use at higher speeds or on the dunes.

Send and Go

Look for locations on your phone and display them on your Uconnect® touchscreen.

Remote Vehicle Start

Leave your AC or heat on before turning off your vehicle and use the Uconnect® app to start your engine and warm-up or cool down your vehicle before you get in.

Break Down Barriers

Get closer to the wind, dirt, sun, or sand. The Segment-Exclusive fold-down windshield can be quickly lowered to deliver the ultimate open-air experience for those who can't get enough of the outdoors.

Natural Flexibility

An easy-to-lower Segment-Exclusive three-position tailgate gives you versatile cargo-carrying options: fully upright, in a mid-position for holding sheet cargo, or fully flat for transporting longer items.

Call and Answer

Whether making calls, listening to music, or selecting entertainment, use Voice Command to take control of your interior features while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Music on the Move

The available Industry-Exclusive removable Bluetooth® speaker recharges as you drive so you can take your music with you wherever you go. Plus, its weatherproof exterior is dust resistant and can withstand water up to 3 feet for 30 minutes.

What are the engine options for the Gladiator?

Two engine options are available for the 2021 Gladiator, and they both are some of the most powerful in its class. Mating with this engine is either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Optional on all but the Mojave is a 3.0-liter diesel-powered turbocharged V6 capable of producing 260 horsepower and a remarkable 442 lb-ft of torque. All versions of the Gladiator come with a 5-foot cargo bed and four-wheel-drive. Towing is no problem for the Gladiator as it can haul 7,650 pounds with a payload capacity of up o 1,700 pounds.

What are some of the Gladiators features?

There are four trim levels available for the Jeep Gladiator, and each comes with an amazing set of features. Starting things out is the Sport, which comes with cruise control, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an eight-speaker audio system, and a 5-inch central display with voice control capability. Also standard is a soft folding top, removable doors, and a fold-down front windshield. There are several sub-trim available for the Sport, known as the Sport S, the Willys, and the 80th Anniversary Edition that provides several interior upgrades and more tech. Overland versions of the Gladiator come with automatic headlights, power windows, heated power mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 7-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you're looking for a ton of off-road prowess, the Rubicon gives it to you with such features as a 4.10 rear axle ratio, 33-inch all-terrain tires, fenders with increased clearance, FOX shock absorbers, locking front and rear differentials, and body-protecting rock rails and skid plates. The desert rated Mojave offers you a reinforced frame, FOX internal bypass shock absorbers, and Desert Rated badge.

What are some of the Gladiators safety features?

Several driver's safety aids are available for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator so that you can get behind the wheel with confidence. Available is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System, which will alert you if the vehicle in the next lane is in your blind spot. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System, which helps the driver maintain a pre-set distance between the Gladiator and the traffic ahead. Finally, the Forward Collision Mitigation System will help warn the driver of an impending collision and apply the brakes in certain situations.
