2021 RAM 2500 vs Ford F-250

If you have a big job to do, you're going to need a truck that's big enough to get it done! Unfortunately, there are many makes and models out there to choose from, so things can get a little tricky. This is where we come in! Dave Smith Motors has taken two of the most popular pickups on the market with the 2021 Ram 1500 and the Ford F-250 and compared them, so you get an up-close and personal look at both of them. While both of these pickups have powerful engines and tons of amazing features, only one can be the standout. Continue reading to see which one comes out on top!

2021 RAM 2500 Power & Handling

There are two mighty engines available for the Ram 2500 that should get drivers excited. Standard is a 6.4-liter V8 that kicks out an amazing 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Optional on all trims except for the Power Wagon is a 6.7-liter turbodiesel that delivers 370 horsepower and a whopping 850 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board, and you have the option of four-wheel-drive on all trims except the Power Wagon. On the Power Wagon, it comes standard.

2021 Ford F-250 Power & Handling

There are three engines available for the Ford F-250, and each delivers a decent amount of power. The first is a 6.2-liter V8 that rips out 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque which comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. Optional is a 7.3-liter V8 that comes with 430 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, which also pairs with an automatic transmission. The last available engine is a diesel, and it's a wonderful 6.7-liter V8 that also gets an automatic transmission. Like the Ram 2500, four-wheel-drive is available on all trims.

2021 RAM 2500 Features & Design

Seven trim levels are available for the 2021 Ram 2500, and each one comes with a large number of available features. Starting things off is the base Tradesman, which has 17-inch steel wheels, a push-button start, a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, air conditioning, a front bench seat, vinyl upholstery, a four-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and a Class V receiver hitch. Next up is the Big Horn, which adds 18-inch wheels, acoustic front glass, chrome surround grille, extended towing mirrors, and a trailer brake controller. For luxury items, there is the Laramie which brings in LED foglights and taillights, aluminum wheels, dual-zone climate control, leather steering wheel/seats, heated seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Longhorn builds on this with LED projector lights, chrome side steps, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, LED bed lighting, a spray-in bedliner, and tow hooks. Higher trims round things out with 20-inch wheels, a wireless charging pad, a 12-inch touchscreen, an electric winch, underbody skid plates, hill descent control, a disconnecting front sway bar, and much more!

2021 Ford F-250 Features & Design

There is one less trim level available for the Ford F-250, so there are a few fewer features. The XL is the base trim, and it comes with black-painted steel bumpers, 17-inch steel wheels, a 4.2-inch center display screen, and FordPass, which includes onboard Wi-Fi. Next is the XLT that adds 18-inch wheels, heated exterior mirrors, an integrated brake controller, cloth upholstery, and an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. If you want more luxury features, then the Lariat has you covered with power-folding tow mirrors, power-sliding rear windows, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and rear parking sensors. Higher trims round things out with a remote start, remote tailgate release, LED bed lights, keyless entry with push-button start, LED headlights, heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, heated steering wheel, a moonroof, and adaptive cruise control.

Conclusion:

While there is a lot to love about both of these pickups, we will give the victory to the Ram 2500!
