2022 Ram 1500 vs Chevy Silverado

If you have a large job, you're going to need a large truck, and two of the best on the market are the Ram 1500 and the Chevy Silverado! Both of these fantastic pickups come with powerful engine options and the ability to haul around a ton of material, but that's not all! These trucks also have unique interiors that are both plush and technologically advanced. While either one of these trucks would make a tremendous addition to your driveway, there is one that has an advantage over the other. Continue reading below as we go over what each one offers and provide you with a winner! That way, you know which one is best for you.

2022 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Several powerful engines are available for the 2022 Ram 1500. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers an astounding 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes standard with an eTorque system which will help improve the fuel economy and the engine's stop/start capability. Optional is a 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out a spectacular 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque which you can get with or without the eTorque. Does the Ram have a diesel engine? You bet it does! You have the option of a turbocharged and diesel-powered 3.0-liter V6 that provides drivers with up to 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Wait, that's not all! Last year, Ram introduced the TRX, and it returns in 2022 with its powerful turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 that rips up the pavement with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All of these wonderful engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive, though four-wheel-drive is available for those who want to take their Ram anywhere!

2022 Chevy Silverado Power & Handling

Several engine options are also available for the Chevy Silverado, and there is a decent amount of power to be had here. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder which pumps out 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Several other options are available, including a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and a 6.2-liter V8 with 460 lb-ft of torque and 420 horsepower. Like the Ram 1500, the Silverado also comes with a diesel option: a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel-powered V6 with 277 horses and a decent 460 lb-ft of torque. All pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Though there is a lot to like about these engines, the Ram 1500 has more available power!

2022 Ram 1500 Features & Design

While the Ram is a very powerful pickup, it is also very well equipped thanks to its numerous features. We start with the base Tradesman, which comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a 23-gallon gas tank, active grille shutters, coil-spring suspension, and trailer-sway control. Heated and power-adjustable side mirrors are also standard. On the Big Horn and above, you get the latest version of the Uconnect system, which has speeds that are four times faster than the previous version and can hold three times as much memory, and comes with its onboard Wi-Fi and tow specific navigation. All of this comes in brilliantly on the 12-inch touchscreen. There are also several special editions available for the Ram 1500. One is the tenth-anniversary edition which comes with22-inch alloy wheels, quilted leather upholstery, suede headliner, jeweled shifter knob, and a 19-speaker audio system. In addition, all versions of the Ram 1500 come with a Clean Air System that filters out 95% of all airborne particles to create a clean cabin!

2022 Chevy Silverado Features & Design

The Silverado counters what the Ram offers with features such as leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and a Bose premium audio system with stainless steel speaker grilles. There are also 12 standard tie-downs. If you want something a little more advanced, then you're going to have to go with one of the higher trims, which have features such as power windows/door locks, cruise control, and 20-in wheels. The LT adds chrome bumpers and mirror caps, GM's OnStar connected services, and semi-automatic single-zone climate control. A larger touchscreen along with black accents, LED fog lights and taillights, keyless entry and start, and a rear window defogger are also available, depending on what trim level you get. While we enjoy a lot of these features, the 2022 Ram 1500 is far more innovative.

Conclusion:

Both of these pickups are outstanding, but if we are going to pick one, we will take the 2022 Ram 1500. The Ram has more powerful engine options, and the features are more innovative than those of the Silverado. Plus, we love the Ram 1500s special editions!
